Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Birmingham, AL.
The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and obtain referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Birmingham. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehab services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detoxification are limited to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be permitted to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically permitted. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
