The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
