The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
