SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Sage, AR.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Sage are programs who are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, however, are required to get their full accreditation in a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation it has been given.
