The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
