Alcohol and drug abuse facilities for Veterans in Blue are available through the VA, with included services such as measures to handle associated disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, pain, disturbed sleep, irritability, and/or relationship problems which most commonly trigger substance abuse disorders among Veterans. Treatment for substance abuse and related disorders among Veterans includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase a person's desire to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications are also available in some instances to help Veterans lessen their tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.
Drug and alcohol abuse facilities for Vets can be found during the weekend and evening hours, with both residential and outpatient programs available. Facilities which are Women-Only or Men-Only and those for homeless Military Veterans are available in certain areas.
