The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
