SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Battlement Mesa, CO.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Battlement Mesa are programs which are officially permitted to give out the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification that was given.
