Medicaid is an insurance program for low-income families that due to the Affordable Care Act they are required to cover standard drug and alcohol treatment. Medicaid is presently the single largest payer for mental health services in the country, and is beginning to play an important role in the reimbursements of substance abuse treatment services. Medicaid subscribers will want to bear in mind that while this is the case, not all rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid. At facilities which do take Medicaid, individuals won't have co-payments in most states. For states which do charge co-pays, there are limits to the out-of-pocket expenses for subscribers. Rehabilitation services covered by Medicaid consist of intervention, screenings, medication maintenance, counseling, detox, inpatient, long-term residential, outpatient and behavioral health services.
If a person in Grant is interested in getting Medicaid to pay for rehabilitation, they must meet the following criteria: 1) Be over 65 years of age or under 19 years old 2) be pregnant or a parent and 3) fall within a specified income bracket. Each state also has their own guidelines, limitations and eligibility requirements and these change each year. So, someone who didn't get accepted for Medicaid in their state last year may qualify this year.
