SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Lazear, CO.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Lazear are programs that are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation it has been granted.
