Medicaid is an insurance program for low-income families that because of the Affordable Care Act must provide insurance coverage for basic substance abuse treatment. Medicaid is currently the single largest payer for mental health treatment services in the U.S., and is beginning to play an important role in the reimbursements of treatment for drug and alcohol treatment. Medicaid subscribers will want to take into account that while this is the case, not all rehabilitation centers will take Medicaid. At rehabilitation programs which do accept Medicaid, clients won't have co-payments in most states. For states which do charge co-pays, there are limits to the out-of-pocket expenses for subscribers. Services covered by Medicaid include intervention, screenings, medication maintenance, counseling, detox, inpatient, outpatient, long-term residential and mental health services.
If a person in Cantonment wants to get Medicaid to pay for rehab, they must fulfill the following guidelines: 1) Be over 65 years of age or under 19 years of age 2) be pregnant or a parent and 3) fall within a specified income bracket. Each state also has their own rules, restrictions and eligibility requisites and these change each year. So, someone who didn't qualify for Medicaid in their state in the previous year just might be approved this year.
