SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Caryville, FL.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Caryville are programs which are legally allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab facility can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
