The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
