The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
