The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals.
