At clinics that treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment goal is to treat the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some programs do deliver a small amount of counseling and group therapy as supplementary treatment, and this is encouraged.
