The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
