The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
