Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of care.

People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
