SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Oliver, GA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Oliver are programs that are officially allowed to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was given.
