SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Soperton, GA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Soperton are programs that are officially allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation program can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation that was granted.
