SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Trenton, GA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Trenton are programs that are officially permitted to dispense the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification it has been granted.
