Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
