SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs - Warthen, GA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Warthen are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services in addition to medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification that was given.
