Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse recovery services in West Point, Medicare may pay for certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
