The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Bevington are programs who are officially permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. A requirement that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.
