The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
