Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Dow City are programs which are legally allowed to distribute the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can receive initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was given.
