Medicaid - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Grant, IA.

Medicaid is an insurance program for low-income households that because of the Affordable Care Act must cover standard drug and alcohol treatment. Medicaid is currently the single largest payer for mental health treatment services in the U.S., and is beginning to play a considerable role in the reimbursements of substance abuse treatment services. Medicaid subscribers may want to keep in mind that while this is the case, not all rehabilitation centers accept Medicaid. At rehabilitation programs which do accept Medicaid, clients won't have co-payments in most states. For states which do charge co-pays, there are limits to the out-of-pocket expenses for subscribers. Services covered by Medicaid consist of screenings, intervention, counseling, medication maintenance, detox, inpatient, long-term residential, outpatient and mental health services.

If an individual in Grant is interested in getting Medicaid to pay for rehabilitation, they must meet the following criteria: 1) Be over 65 years of age or under 19 years of age 2) be pregnant or a parent and 3) fall within a specified income bracket. Each state also has their own rules, limitations and eligibility requirements and these change every year. So, an individual who didn't get accepted for Medicaid in their state last year may qualify this year.
