Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Grundy Center, this program can pay for certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want supplemental coverage aside from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
