The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients.
