SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Woden, IA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Woden are programs that are legally allowed to give out the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the kind of certification that was granted.
