DWI Clients - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs - May, ID.

DWI clients in treatment need specific requirements met to satisfy the terms of their sentencing. Treatment programs which help fulfill these requirements and conditions, which are usually more lenient than normal sentencing which would include large fines and jail time, are offered in May to deliver alcohol education, group counseling, and additional evaluation for severe drug or alcohol problems.

Education is an essential tool used at rehab programs treating DWI offenders. There are a few different levels of alcohol education classes which can differ by state. Level I education usually include 12 hours of education about the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what a person with a first offense or someone under the age of 21 will often be required to complete. Level II classes would consist of both substance abuse education and group therapy at a court approved program. The duration the individual will be required to be in therapy depends upon a few factors, which can include how many DWI's the person has had, and the seriousness of the violation. In most cases, clients will be sentenced to the Level II classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol content level was extremely low when they were arrested and there weren't any other significant infractions when the offender was arrested.
