The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
