Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol recovery services in Cairo, this program may cover certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for clients who want supplemental health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
