The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Colp are programs who are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements.
