The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
