DWI clients in rehab need specific requirements met to satisfy the conditions of their sentencing. Rehab programs that help satisfy these demands and terms, which are usually much more lenient than traditional sentencing such as heavy fines and incarceration, are available in Dix to deliver alcohol education, group counseling, and additional assessment for clients with serious alcohol or drug issues.
Drug and Alcohol Education is an essential tool used at rehabs treating DWI offenders. There are a few different levels of alcohol education which can differ by state. Level I education generally include 12 hours of education about the effects and dangers of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what a person with a single offense or someone under 21 will commonly be required to complete. Level II classes would consist of both education and group therapy in a program which is approved by the courts. How long a client will need to remain in therapy depends on various factors, which can include the number of DWI's the individual has had, and the seriousness of the offense. Most often individuals will be sentenced to the Level II DWI classes and therapy except for when their blood-alcohol content was very low when they were stopped and there weren't any other significant infractions when the person was arrested.
