The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
