DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to fulfill the conditions of their court sentencing. Treatment programs which help fulfill these court requirements and conditions, which are typically much more lenient than normal sentencing such as large fines and incarceration, are available in Mt Zion to provide DWI classes, therapy, and additional evaluation for serious drug or alcohol problems.
Education is a fundamental treatment tool used at rehab programs treating DWI offenders. There are various levels of alcohol education classes which can vary by state. Level I education normally include 12 hours of education about the effects and dangers of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what someone with a single offense or someone under 21 will ordinarily be required to complete. Level II classes would include both education and group therapy at a court approved program. The duration the individual will have to remain in therapy depends upon various considerations, which can be, for example, the number of DWI's the person has had, and the severity of the violation. Most often individuals will be sentenced to the Level II classes and therapy except for when their blood-alcohol content level was very low when they were arrested and there were no other serious infractions when the individual was arrested.
