The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
