Medicaid - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Ohio, IL.

Medicaid is an insurance program for low-income households that because of the Affordable Care Act must cover standard drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Medicaid is currently the single largest payer for mental health treatment services in the country, and is starting to play an important role in the reimbursements of treatment for drug and alcohol treatment. Medicaid holders will want to take into account that while this is the case, not all facilities accept Medicaid. At rehabilitation programs which do accept Medicaid, individuals won't have co-payments in most states. For states which do charge co-pays, there are limits to the out-of-pocket expenses for recipients. Services covered by Medicaid include intervention, screenings, medication maintenance, counseling, inpatient, detox, long-term residential, outpatient and behavioral health services.

If an individual in Ohio is interested in getting Medicaid to pay for rehabilitation, they must meet the following criteria: 1) Be over 65 years of age or under 19 years of age 2) be pregnant or a parent and 3) fall within a specified income bracket. Each state also has their own rules, restrictions and eligibility requirements and these vary every year. So, an individual who didn't get accepted for Medicaid in their state last year may qualify this year.
