SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Roanoke, IL.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Roanoke are programs who are legally permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
