The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
