At centers which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are limited beyond managing the medication and the primary treatment objective is to treat the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some centers do deliver a small amount of counseling and group therapy as auxiliary treatment, and it is recommended and encouraged.
