Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals who do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Tamms, this program may cover various recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
