SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Trenton, IL.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Trenton are programs that are legally permitted to distribute the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary services in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
