The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients.
