The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
