The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
